(Whig) for Steyning between 1803 and 1806.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1806.1 He was Treasurer of the Household between 1806 and 1807.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Knaresborough between 1806 and 1818.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Berwick between 1820 and 1822.1 He succeeded as the 6th Baron Ossulston, of Ossulston, co. Middlesex [E., 1682] on 10 December 1822.1 He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Tankerville [G.B., 1714] on 10 December 1822.1
