     He held the office of Under-Secretary of State, Home Department, for 20 years.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)¹

     Charity Emilia Grant was the daughter of Charles Grant and Jane Fraser.^1,2 She married Rt. Hon. Samuel March Phillipps, son of Thomas March Phillipps and Susan Lisle, circa 1812.¹ She died in 1825.¹
     From circa 1812, her married name became March Phillipps.¹

     Charles Grant was born on 16 April 1746.² He was the son of Alexander Grant and Margaret Macbean.² He married Jane Fraser, daughter of Thomas Fraser, in 1770.² He died on 31 October 1823 at age 77.²
     He was Senior Merchant, Honourable East India Company Service in 1784.² He was 4th member of the Board of Trade, Calcutta in 1787.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Inverness-shire between 1802 and 1818.^1,2 He was chairman of the Court of Directors, East India Company between 1805 and 1823.²

     Charles Grant, 1st and last Baron Gleneig was born on 26 October 1778.³ He was the son of Charles Grant and Jane Fraser.^1,3 He died on 23 April 1866 at age 87 at Cannes, France^G, unmarried.³
     He graduated from Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1801 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)³ He graduated from Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1804 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)³ He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn in 1807 entitled to practise as a barrister-at-law.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Inverness and Fortrose between 1811 and 1818.³ He held the office of a Lord of Treasury in 1813.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Inverness-shire between 1818 and 1835.³ He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1819.³ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1819.³ He held the office of Irish Secretary between 1819 and 1823.³ He held the office of Treasurer of the Navy between 1827 and 1828.³ He held the office of Vice-President of the Board of Trade between 1827 and 1828.³ He held the office of Colonial Secretary between 1835 and 1839.³ He was created 1st Baron Gleneig, of Glenelg, Inverness-shire [U.K.] on 11 May 1835.³

     Spencer March Phillipps was born in 1815.¹ He was the son of Rt. Hon. Samuel March Phillipps and Charity Emilia Grant.¹ He married Georgina Theophilia Dashwood, daughter of Vice-Admiral William Bateman Dashwood and Louisa Henrietta Bode.¹ He died in September 1869.¹

     Georgina Theophilia Dashwood was born in 1825.² She was the daughter of Vice-Admiral William Bateman Dashwood and Louisa Henrietta Bode.^1,2 She married Spencer March Phillipps, son of Rt. Hon. Samuel March Phillipps and Charity Emilia Grant.¹ She died in 1886.²
     Her married name became March Phillipps.¹

     Jean-Pierre Guillaume Patrick le Goaëc was born on 9 April 1997.¹ He is the son of Yann Charles Ramon le Goaëc and Isabelle Cardo.¹

     Evelyn March Phillipps was the son of Spencer March Phillipps and Georgina Theophilia Dashwood.¹ He died in 1915.¹

     Henry March Phillipps was born in 1853.¹ He was the son of Spencer March Phillipps and Georgina Theophilia Dashwood.¹ He married Charlotte Jones, daughter of T. Lloyd Jones.¹ He died on 20 November 1907.¹
