Hon. Sir Anthony George Berry was born on 12 February 1925.1 He was the son of James Gomer Berry, 1st Viscount Kemsley and Mary Lilian Holmes.1 He married, firstly, Hon. Mary Cynthia Burke Roche, daughter of Edmund Maurice Burke Roche, 4th Baron Fermoy and Ruth Sylvia Gill, on 25 November 1954.3 He and Hon. Mary Cynthia Burke Roche were divorced in 1966.3 He married, secondly, Sarah Anne Clifford-Turner, daughter of Raymond Clifford-Turner, on 5 April 1966.1 He died on 12 October 1984 at age 59 at Grand Hotel, Brighton, Sussex, EnglandG, killed in an IRA bomb attack.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant between 1943 and 1947 in the Welsh Guards.1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1950 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was member of the Council for U S Wales and Monmouthshire between 1952 and 1964.1 He was director of Kemsley Newspapers Ltd between 1954 and 1959.1 He was managing director of the Western Mail and Echo Ltd between 1955 and 1959.1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1956 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Cardiff in 1960.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Glamorgan in 1962.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Enfield Southgate between 1964 and 1984.1
