In 1296 he swore allegiance to King Edward I.1 He fought in the Battle of Falkirk in 1298, for the English.1 He was created 1st Lord Hastings, of Inchmahome [England by writ] in 1299.1 He fought in the Siege of Carlaverock in 1300.1 He fought in the Battle of Bannockburn on 24 June 1314, on the English side.1
