     Thomas Hamilton of Priestfield was the son of Thomas Hamilton of Orchardfield and Priestfield and Margaret Cant.¹ He married Elizabeth Leslie, daughter of Robert Leslie of Innerpeffer.¹ He died on 10 September 1547 at Pinkie, Scotland^G, killed in action.¹
     He held the office of Burgess of Edinburgh on 29 April 1541.²

     Thomas Hamilton of Orchardfield and Priestfield was the son of Sir Alexander Hamilton, 4th of Ballencrieff and of Innerwick and Isobel Shaw.¹ He married Margaret Cant, daughter of unknown Cant.¹ He died circa 1537.¹
     He held the office of Burgess of Edinburgh.¹ He purchased Orchardton in 1522.¹ He purchased Prestfield from his brother-in-law in 1523.¹

     Sir Alexander Hamilton, 4th of Ballencrieff and of Innerwick was the son of Sir Archibald Hamilton, 3rd of Ballencrieff and of Innerwick and Margaret Montgomerie.¹ He married Isobel Shaw.¹ He died circa 1505.¹
     He lived at Innerwick, East Lothian, Scotland^G.² On 18 November 1465 he had a charter for Ballencrieff.¹

     Sir Archibald Hamilton, 3rd of Ballencrieff and of Innerwick is the son of Sir Alexander Hamilton, 2nd of Ballencrieff and of Innerwick and Elizabeth Stewart.² He married Margaret Montgomerie, daughter of John Montgomerie of Thornton.¹
     On 10 May 1458 he had a charter for Ballencrieff from John Stewart, Lord Darnley.¹

     Elizabeth Leslie is the daughter of Robert Leslie of Innerpeffer.¹ She married, firstly, Thomas Hamilton of Priestfield, son of Thomas Hamilton of Orchardfield and Priestfield and Margaret Cant.¹ She married, secondly, William Hutson after 1547.¹
     Her married name became Hamilton.¹ From after 1547, her married name became Hutson.¹

     John fitz Walter, 1st of Ballencrieff and of Innerwick was the son of Sir Walter fitz Gilbert, 1st of Cadzow and Mary Gordon.^1,2 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Stewart, daughter of Sir Alan Stewart.¹ He married, firstly, Isobel de Glay of Innerwick.³ He died circa 1394.³
     On 15 January 1369 he had a charter for Ballencrieff, in the Barony of Bathgate, Lothain, from his wife’s brother, John.¹ He was living on 17 February 1383/84.¹

     Prideaux Selby was born on 17 December 1677 at Ainwick, Northumberland, England.¹ He married Elizabeth Collingwood.¹ He died in 1744.¹

     Elizabeth Collingwood was born in 1677/78.¹ She married Prideaux Selby.¹ She died on 10 May 1769.¹
     Her married name became Selby.¹

     Mary Selby was born in 1721 at Ainwick, Northumberland, England.¹ She was the daughter of Prideaux Selby and Elizabeth Collingwood.¹ She married George Selby.¹ She died on 16 September 1750.¹

     Margaret Montgomerie is the daughter of John Montgomerie of Thornton.¹ She married Sir Archibald Hamilton, 3rd of Ballencrieff and of Innerwick, son of Sir Alexander Hamilton, 2nd of Ballencrieff and of Innerwick and Elizabeth Stewart.¹
     Her married name became Hamilton.¹
