     Hubert d’Esterre Minchin was born on 19 October 1896.¹ He was the son of William Peter Minchin and Florence Emily Henniker.¹ He married Iris Vera Isabelle Tompson, daughter of William Penn Tompson, on 3 September 1921.¹ He died on 14 July 1974 at age 77 at Shenton Park, Western Australia, Australia^G.¹
