     Elizabeth Hampton was born in 1861 at Ballytrue, County Armagh, Ireland^G.¹ She was the daughter of John Hampton and Mary Ann Henderson.¹ She died on 24 November 1909 at Rakaia river mouth, Little Rakaia, Canterbury, New Zealand^G, drowning Elizabeth was in a boat with relatives from Southbridge. The party of six capsized, and five of them were swept out to sea and drowned..²

     Dudley Hampton was born on 3 June 1851 at Kilmore, County Armagh, Ireland^G.^1,2,3 He was baptized at St. Aidan’s Parish Church, Kilmore, County Armagh, Ireland^G, on 3 June 1851.⁴ He was the son of Henry Hampton and Sarah Jane Mullen.¹ He married Margaret Cassidy, daughter of John Cassidy and Elizabeth Bell, on 24 November 1877 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Hospital Corner, Christchurch, New Zealand^G, in a Presbyterian marriage.^5,6 He died on 19 September 1919 at age 68 at Leeston, Canterbury, New Zealand^G.^7,8 He was buried at Ellesmere Public Cemetery, Ellesmere, Canterbury, New Zealand^G, plot 661.⁷
