     John Minchin was the son of Colonel Charles Minchin and Elizabeth Paulet.1 He married, firstly, Frances Ryan, daughter of Daniel Ryan.1 A settlement for the marriage between him and Penelope Cuffe was made on 27 April 1699.1 He died between July 1733 and December 1734.1 His will was proven (by probate) on 9 December 1734.2
     He lived on 27 April 1699 at Castle Inch, Inchmore, County Kilkenny, IrelandG, settled on him on his second marriage.1 He lived at Annagh, County Tipperary, IrelandG.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Tipperary in 1733.1 His last will was dated 26 July 1733.2
