Very Rev. Dudley Persse was born in 1625.3 He was the son of Henry Persse and Elizabeth (?)3 He married Sarah Crofton, daughter of John Crofton and Sarah Maypowder, after 1650.3 He died in 1700.3
He was educated at St. Patrick’s School, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.3 He matriculated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, on 14 February 1642.3 He was a Commonwealth Preacher in 1651 at St. Michans, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.3 He purchased Spring Garden, County Galway.3 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, on 26 January 1661 with a Bachelor of Divinity (B.D.)1 He held the office of Archdeacon of Tuam between 1662 and 1670.3 He held the office of Dean of Kilmacduagh between 1662 and 1700.3 He held the office of Prebendary of Fenmore, Clonfert between 1662 and 1700.3 He held the office of Prebendary of Taghsaxon between 1663 and 1669.3 On 15 August 1677 he was granted other lands in counties Galway and Roscommon by Letters Patent of King Charles II.3 He lived at Roxborough, County Galway, IrelandG.1
