     Susannah Caroline Hyde Gardner was born on 4 February 1927.³ She was the daughter of Major Philip Charles Gardner and Constance Eillen Cox.^1,3 She married Robert Leslie Eustace Maude, 8th Viscount Hawarden, son of Eustace Wyndham Maude, 7th Viscount Hawarden and Marion Wright, on 28 September 1957.¹ She died on 17 July 2008 at age 81.³
     From 28 September 1957, her married name became Maude.¹ After her marriage, Susannah Caroline Hyde Gardner was styled as Viscountess Hawarden on 6 April 1958. She lived in 2003 at The Chicken House, Canterbury Road, Wingham, Kent, England^G.¹

     Major Philip Charles Gardner was born on 30 July 1883.² He was the son of Alan Hyde Gardner and Elizabeth Bult.³ He married, firstly, Dorothy Margaret Mullock, daughter of William Mullock, on 30 May 1910.² He married, secondly, Constance Eillen Cox, daughter of Major Charles Hay Cox, on 5 November 1924.² He died in 1932.³
     He gained the rank of Major in the Indian Army.² He lived at Shanklin, Isle of Wight, England.³

     Margaret Christian Garnett was born on 28 January 1913 at Manchester, Lancashire, England^G.¹ She was the daughter of James Clerk Maxwell Garnett.¹ She married Douglas Patrick Thomas Jay, Baron Jay, son of Edward Aubrey Hastings Jay, in 1933 at Hampstead Parish Church, Hampstead, London, England^G.¹ She and Douglas Patrick Thomas Jay, Baron Jay were divorced in 1972.¹ She died on 21 January 2008 at age 94.¹
     Margaret Christian Garnett also went by the nick-name of Peggy.¹ From 1933, her married name became Jay.¹

     Hon. Peter Jay was born in 1937.¹ He is the son of Douglas Patrick Thomas Jay, Baron Jay and Margaret Christian Garnett.¹ He married Margaret Ann Callaghan, Baroness Jay of Paddington, daughter of Leonard James Callaghan, Baron Callaghan of Cardiff and Audrey Elizabeth Moulton, in 1961.¹ He and Margaret Ann Callaghan, Baroness Jay of Paddington were divorced in 1986.²
     He held the office of Ambassador to the U.S.A.¹

     James Clerk Maxwell Garnett married Margaret Lucy Poulton, daughter of Sir Edward Bagnall Poulton and Emily Palmer.²

     Her married name became Pennant-Rea.²

     Hon. Catherine Jay was born in 1945.¹ She is the daughter of Douglas Patrick Thomas Jay, Baron Jay and Margaret Christian Garnett.¹

     Hon. Ruth Joan Gertrude Rahle Janner was born in 1932.¹ She is the daughter of Barnett Janner, Baron Janner and Elsie Sybil Cohen.¹ She married Philip Geoffrey Morris, 2nd Baron Morris of Kenwood, son of Harry Morris, 1st Baron Morris of Kenwood and Florence Isaacs, on 9 September 1958.³
     She was educated at St. Paul’s Girls’ School, London, England.⁴ She was a practising solicitor in 1956.⁴ From 9 September 1958, her married name became Morris.³ After her marriage, Hon. Ruth Joan Gertrude Rahle Janner was styled as Baroness Morris of Kenwood on 9 September 1958. She was Vice-President of the Woman of the Year Lunch.³ She was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 2014.⁵
