     Brigadier Ralph Frederick Richard Becher was born on 6 December 1896 at Castletownshend, County Cork, Ireland.^1,2 He was the son of Very Rev. Harry Becher and Zoe Louise Hudson.³ He married Edith Jessica Cox, daughter of Albert Edward Cox, on 4 January 1928.¹ He died on 7 January 1979 at age 82 at Drumearn, Comrie, Perthshire, Scotland.^4,2
     Brigadier Ralph Frederick Richard Becher usually went by his middle name of Frederick.¹ He was educated between February 1911 and February 1915 at Uppingham School, Uppingham, England.¹ He fought in the First World War, during which he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He fought in the Second World War, during which he was mentioned in despatches twice.¹ He was the Deputy Chief of Staff in the G1 Division of Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force (SHAEF) in 1944.¹ He was Deputy Director of Organisation (Officers) in the War Office between 1944 and 1946.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1946.¹ He gained the rank of Brigadier in the The Cameronians (Scots Rifles.)¹ He lived at Castlehaven House, Castletownshend, County Cork, Ireland^G, which he sold in 1972.¹ He lived at Drumearn, Comrie, Perthshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Edith Jessica Cox was born in 1905.² She was the daughter of Albert Edward Cox.¹ She married Brigadier Ralph Frederick Richard Becher, son of Very Rev. Harry Becher and Zoe Louise Hudson, on 4 January 1928.¹ She died on 17 June 2001.²
     From 4 January 1928, her married name became Becher.¹
