     Sir Steuart Colvin Bayley was born on 26 November 1836.¹ He was the son of William Butterworth Bayley and Anne Augusta Jackson.¹ He married Anna Farquharson, daughter of Robert Nesham Farquharson and Mary Anne Bowen, on 21 November 1860 at Patna, India^G.¹ He died in 1925.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Haileybury College, Haileybury, Hertfordshire, England^G.¹ He was with the Bengal Civil Service in 1856.¹ He held the office of Commissioner of the Patna Division in 1873.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Star of India (K.C.S.I.) in 1878.¹ He held the office of Chief Commissioner of Assam in 1878.¹ He held the office of Resident at Hyderabad in 1881.¹ He held the office of Member of the Governor-General’s Council in 1882.¹ He held the office of Lieutenant-Governor of Bengal in 1887.¹ He was Secretary of the Political and Secret Department, India Office in 1891.¹

     Anna Farquharson was born in 1840.² She was the daughter of Robert Nesham Farquharson and Mary Anne Bowen.^1,2 She married Sir Steuart Colvin Bayley, son of William Butterworth Bayley and Anne Augusta Jackson, on 21 November 1860 at Patna, India^G.¹ She died on 26 December 1924.¹
     From 21 November 1860, her married name became Bayley.¹

     Robert Nesham Farquharson was born in 1811.² He married Mary Anne Bowen, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Herbert Bowen.² He died in 1882.²

     Clive William Bayley was born on 10 September 1862 at Arrah, India^G.¹ He was the son of Sir Steuart Colvin Bayley and Anna Farquharson.¹ He died in November 1863 at age 1 at Calcutta, India^G, from an accident.¹

     Steuart Farquharson Bayley was born on 14 August 1863 at Burhanpur, India^G.¹ He was the son of Sir Steuart Colvin Bayley and Anna Farquharson.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Bengal Staff Corps.¹

     Frances Mary Lushington Bayley was born in February 1865 at Calcutta, India^G.¹ She was the daughter of Sir Steuart Colvin Bayley and Anna Farquharson.¹ She died on 12 April 1865, at sea near Madras.¹

     Ethel Augusta Colvin Bayley was born on 9 May 1867 at Calcutta, India^G.¹ She was the daughter of Sir Steuart Colvin Bayley and Anna Farquharson.¹ She married Sir Elliot Graham Colvin, son of Bazett Wetenhall Colvin and Mary Elizabeth Graham, on 7 December 1889 at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Calcutta, India^G.¹ She died on 26 May 1944 at age 77 at St. Mary Bourne, Hampshire, England.²
     From 7 December 1889, her married name became Colvin.¹
