John Ashburnham1,2 
John Ashburnham was born in 1603.4 He was the son of Sir John Ashburnham and Elizabeth Beaumont, Baroness of Cramond.2 He married, firstly, Frances Holland, daughter of William Holland.2 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Kenn, daughter of Christopher Kenn.2 He died on 15 June 1671.1 He was buried at Ashburnham Church, Ashburnham, Sussex, EnglandG.2
He held the office of Groom of the Bedchamber to King Charles I.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hastings in 1640.2 In 1646 he was the only person who attended King Charles I when the latter left Oxford.2 Between 1647 and 1658 he was imprisoned in the Tower by Cromwell.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Sussex after 1660.2 He held the office of Groom of the Bedchamber to King Charles II.2 He lived at Ashburnham, Sussex, EnglandG.2 He received his bas mitzvah; Dictionary of National Biography.4![]()
