Sir Robert Shaw, 1st Bt. was born on 29 January 1774.2 He was the son of Robert Shaw and Mary Higgins.2 He married, firstly, Maria Wilkinson, daughter of Abraham Wilkinson, on 7 January 1796.2 He married, secondly, Amelia Spencer, daughter of Benjamin Spencer, on 2 July 1834.2 He died on 10 March 1849 at age 75.2
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for New Ross and Dublin between 1804 and 1826.3 He held the office of High Sheriff of County Dublin in 1806.2 On 17 August 1821 so created.2 He was created 1st Baronet Shaw, of Bushy Park, co. Dublin [U.K.] on 17 August 1821.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Dublin Militia.3 He lived at Bushy Park, County Dublin, IrelandG.3
