Douglas Martin Hogg, Baron Hailsham of Kettlethorpe was born on 5 February 1945.1 He is the son of Quintin McGarel Hogg, Baron Hailsham of St. Marylebone and Mary Evelyn Martin.1 He married Sarah Elizabeth Mary Boyd-Carpenter, Baroness Hogg, daughter of John Archibald Boyd-Carpenter, Baron Boyd-Carpenter and Margaret Mary Hall, on 6 June 1968.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn in 1968 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)
