     Sir Nicholas Poyntz was the son of Sir Anthony Poyntz and Elizabeth Huddersfield.3 He married Joan Berkeley, daughter of Thomas Berkeley, 5th Lord Berkeley and Eleanor Constable.1 He died before July 1557.1 His will was proven (by probate) on 8 July 1557.3
