     He was educated at Penygroes Llanedarne School, Cardiff, Glamorgan, Wales^G.¹ He was educated at Weston School, Bath, Somerset, England^G.¹ He was a contrator and owner of a lime works, and assisted i the construction of the Rhondda Fach branch of the Taff Vale Railway.¹ He held the office of Mayor of Cardiff in 1881.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for East Glamorganshire between 1885 and 1911.¹ He was chairman of the Welsh Parliamentary Party between 1897 and 1910.¹ He was the President between 1901 and 1906 at University College, Cardiff, Glamorgan, Wales^G.¹ He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1902.¹ He was created 1st Baron Pontypridd, of Cardiff, co. Glamorgan [U.K.] on 8 February 1912.¹

     Henry John Wentworth Hodgetts-Foley was born on 9 December 1828.¹ He was the son of John Hodgetts Hodgetts-Foley and Charlotte Margaret Gage.¹ He was baptised on 22 December 1828 at All Souls, St. Marylebone, London, England.² He married Hon. Jane Frances Anne Vivian, daughter of Richard Hussey Vivian, 1st Baron Vivian of Glynn and of Truro and Eliza Champion de Crespigny, on 12 December 1854.¹ He died on 23 April 1894 at age 65.¹ His will was proven (by probate) on 22 June 1894 at Longdon, Staffordshire, England.²
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for South Staffordshire between 1857 and 1868.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Worcestershire Militia.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)¹ He lived at Prestwood, Staffordshire, England^G.¹

     Hon. Jane Frances Anne Vivian was baptised on 18 October 1824 at Minstead, Hampshire, England.² She was the daughter of Richard Hussey Vivian, 1st Baron Vivian of Glynn and of Truro and Eliza Champion de Crespigny.^1,3 She married Henry John Wentworth Hodgetts-Foley, son of John Hodgetts Hodgetts-Foley and Charlotte Margaret Gage, on 12 December 1854.¹ She died on 2 December 1860 at age 36.¹
     From 12 December 1854, her married name became Hodgetts-Foley.¹

     Paul Henry Hodgetts-Foley was born on 19 March 1857 at London, England.^1,2 He was the son of Henry John Wentworth Hodgetts-Foley and Hon. Jane Frances Anne Vivian.¹ He married Dora Langley, daughter of Hamilton William Langley, on 9 February 1904 at Hereford, Herefordshire, England.^1,2 He died on 21 January 1928 at age 70.¹ His will was proven (by probate) on 11 August 1928 at Herefordshire, England.²
     He was a practising barrister.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Herefordshire in 1906.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Herefordshire.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Herefordshire.¹ He lived at Prestwood, Staffordshire, England^G.¹ He lived at Stoke Edith, Herefordshire, England^G.¹

     Dora Langley was the daughter of Hamilton William Langley.¹ She married Paul Henry Hodgetts-Foley, son of Henry John Wentworth Hodgetts-Foley and Hon. Jane Frances Anne Vivian, on 9 February 1904 at Hereford, Herefordshire, England.^1,2 She died on 2 November 1959.¹
     From 9 February 1904, her married name became Hodgetts-Foley.¹

     Hamilton William Langley lived at Bedstone Court, Bucknell, Shropshire, England^G.¹

     Major Henry Thomas Hamilton Foley was born on 25 April 1905.¹ He was the son of Paul Henry Hodgetts-Foley and Dora Langley.¹ He married Helen Constance Margaret Pearson, daughter of Sir Robert Barclay Pearson, on 24 June 1936.¹ He died on 13 December 1959 at age 54.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Brasenose College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Rifle Brigade.¹ He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1944.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) in 1945.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Herefordshire in 1947.¹ He lived at Stoke Edith Park, Herefordshire, England^G.¹

     Helen Constance Margaret Pearson was the daughter of Sir Robert Barclay Pearson.¹ She married Major Henry Thomas Hamilton Foley, son of Paul Henry Hodgetts-Foley and Dora Langley, on 24 June 1936.¹ She died in 1985.¹
     She was appointed Officer, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (O.St.J.)¹ From 24 June 1936, her married name became Foley.¹

     Sir Robert Barclay Pearson lived at Johnston Lodge, Laurencekirk, Kincardineshire, Scotland^G.¹
