He was given the name of Hugo Hirsch at birth.1 He was educated at Munich, Bavaria, GermanyG.1 He was chairman of General Electric Company Ltd.1 He was created 1st Baronet Hirst [U.K.] on 2 July 1925.1 He became a Master of the Glaziers Company between 1928 and 1930.1 He was created 1st Baron Hirst, of Witton, co. Warwick [U.K.] on 28 June 1934.1 On her death, his title became extinct.1
