Gordon Hewart, 1st Viscount Hewart was born on 7 January 1870.1 He was the son of Giles Hewart.1 He married, firstly, Sara Wood Riley, daughter of J. H. Riley, on 5 October 1892.2 He married, secondly, Jean Stewart, daughter of J. R. Stewart, on 29 December 1934.2 He died on 5 May 1943 at age 73.1
