     He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England^G.² He gained the rank of officer in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve.² He fought in the Second World War.² He lived in 1972 at 23 Milner Street, London, England^G.³

     Pamela Mary Synge was born on 16 May 1923.² She was the daughter of Robert Millington Synge and Christabel Etrenne Liddell.^1,2 She married Charles William Fane, son of Colonel William Vere Reeve King-Fane and Helen Beatrice Newman, on 29 July 1966.¹ She died on 31 July 1987 at age 64 at Ashmansworth, Newbury, Berkshire, England.^1,3
     She fought in the Second World War, in the Middle East, and was mentioned in despatches.² From 29 July 1966, her married name became Fane.¹

     Eleanor Mary Fane was born in 1965.¹ She is the daughter of Charles William Fane and Pamela Mary Synge.¹
