She was appointed Fellow, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (F.R.I.C.S.)1 From 24 January 1924, her married name became Assheton. After her marriage, Hon. Sylvia Benita Frances Hotham was styled as Baroness Clitheroe on 20 June 1955.
