     He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the British Empire (G.B.E.)¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.)¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹ He gained the rank of Air Chief Marshall in the Royal Air Force.¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)¹

     Pamela Emily Bayliss was the daughter of F. H. Bayliss.¹ She married G/Capt. Rupert Francis Henry Clerke, son of Lieutenant Francis William Talbot Clerke and Albinia Mary Evans-Lombe, in 1975.¹ She died circa 1994, in a car accident.²
     From 1975, her married name became Clerke.¹ She lived at 3 Havelock Court, Warsash, Hampshire, England^G.¹

     Thomas Cartwright lived at Aynhoe, Northamptonshire, England^G.¹

     Byzantia Cartwright was the daughter of Thomas Cartwright and Byzantia Lane.^2,3 She married Sir William Henry Clerke, 8th Bt., son of Francis Clerke and Susannah Elizabeth Ashurst, on 5 May 1792 at St. George’s Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England^G.³ She died on 30 April 1815.¹
     From 5 May 1792, her married name became Clerke.

     Lt.-Col. Sir William Clerke, 9th Bt. was born on 13 September 1793 at London, England^G.² He was the son of Sir William Henry Clerke, 8th Bt. and Byzantia Cartwright.³ He married Mary Elizabeth Kenrick, daughter of George Watkin Kenrick, on 2 May 1820.³ He died on 16 February 1861 at age 67.³
     He was commissioned in 1811, in the service of the 52nd Regiment.² He fought in the Peninsular Wars.³ He fought in the Battle of Waterloo.³ He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Clerke, of Hitcham, co. Buckingham [E., 1660] on 10 April 1818.¹ He retired from the military in 1858, with the rank of Brevet Major, late of the 52nd Regiment.²

     Venerable Charles Carr Clerke was born on 23 December 1798.¹ He was the son of Sir William Henry Clerke, 8th Bt. and Byzantia Cartwright.² He married Caroline Ashhurst, daughter of William Henry Ashhurst and Elizabeth Mosley, on 15 April 1847.¹ He died on 24 December 1877 at age 79, without issue.²
     He held the office of Canon of Christ Church.¹ He was the Rector at Milton, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He held the office of Archdeacon of Oxford.¹ He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)¹

     Jamie C. Barys is the daughter of Paul Barys.¹ She married Duncan John Darroch-Thompson, son of Matthew John Darroch-Thompson and Claire Nicola Darroch.¹

     Caroline Ashhurst was the daughter of William Henry Ashhurst and Elizabeth Mosley.^2,3 She married Venerable Charles Carr Clerke, son of Sir William Henry Clerke, 8th Bt. and Byzantia Cartwright, on 15 April 1847.¹ She died on 25 December 1904.¹
     From 15 April 1847, her married name became Clerke.
