     Sir Simon Clarke, 1st Bt. was born in 1579. He was the son of Walter Clarke and Elizabeth Edolph.¹ He married, firstly, Margaret Alderford, daughter of John Alderford and Elizabeth Dormer.¹ He married, secondly, Dorothy Hobson, daughter of Thomas Hobson.¹ He died circa 1642.¹ He was buried at Salford, Warwickshire, England^G.¹
     He was created 1st Baronet Clarke, of Salford, co. Warwick [England] on 1 May 1617.¹ He supported the cause of King Charles I during the Civil War.² He was fined £200 during the Civil War for adhering to the King.¹ He lived at Newbold Revell, Warwickshire, England^G.² He was fined £800 by the sequestrators of estates of Loyalists.² He lived at Broom Court, Bidford, Warwickshire, England^G.² He lived at Salford Priors, Warwickshire, England^G.²

     Walter Clarke is the son of Humphrey Clarke and Margareta Mayney.² He married Elizabeth Edolph, daughter of Simon Edolph.³
     He had four elder and one younger son and two daughters.⁴ He lived at Buxford, Great Chart, Kent, England^G.¹ He lived at Ratcliffe, Buckinghamshire, England^G.¹

     Elizabeth Edolph is the daughter of Simon Edolph.¹ She married Walter Clarke, son of Humphrey Clarke and Margareta Mayney.²
     Her married name became Clarke.²

     Sir East George Clayton East, 1st Bt. was born on 9 April 1794.¹ He was the son of Sir William Clayton, 4th Bt. and Mary East.² He married Marianne Frances Bishop, daughter of Charles Bishop and Marianne Freemantle, on 20 June 1815.¹ He died on 6 March 1851 at age 56.¹
     He was given the name of East George Clayton at birth.¹ On 6 April 1829 his name was legally changed to East George Clayton East by Royal Licence.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Clayton East, of Hall Place, Berkshire [U.K.] on 17 August 1838.¹

     Charles Bishop was born on 4 July 1750.² He was the son of Charles Bishop.² He married Marianne Freemantle, daughter of John Fremantle and Frances Edwards, on 26 May 1790 at St. Pancras, London, England.²
     He held the office of Procurator-General.¹ He lived at Sunbury, London, England^G.¹

     Marianne Frances Bishop was the daughter of Charles Bishop and Marianne Freemantle.² She married Sir East George Clayton East, 1st Bt., son of Sir William Clayton, 4th Bt. and Mary East, on 20 June 1815.¹ She died on 5 January 1876.¹
     From 20 June 1815, her married name became Clayton. From 6 April 1829, her married name became Clayton East.¹

     Sir Gilbert East Gilbert East, 2nd Bt. was born on 13 November 1823.¹ He was the son of Sir East George Clayton East, 1st Bt. and Marianne Frances Bishop.² He married Emma Jane Lucretia Smith, daughter of Sebastian Smith, on 29 January 1845.¹ He died on 12 August 1866 at age 42, drowned off Sands Head, near Sturbridge Buoy.^1,3
     He was given the name of Gilbert East Clayton at birth.¹ On 6 April 1829 his name was legally changed to Gilbert East Clayton East.¹ On 4 April 1839 his name was legally changed to Gilbert East Gilbert East by Royal Licence.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Clayton East, of Hall Place, Berkshire [U.K., 1838] on 6 March 1851.¹
