     Cornelia Maria de Peyster was the daughter of Arent Schuyler de Peyster.² She married George Chance, son of William Chance and Sarah Lucas, on 19 May 1825.¹ She died on 30 December 1881.¹
     From 19 May 1825, her married name became Chance.

     Lt.-Col. Sir Henry Strachey was born on 24 February 1816.^2,3 He was the son of Edward Strachey and Julia Woobine Kirkpatrick.³ He married Joanna Catherine Cloeté, daughter of Rudolph Cloeté, on 6 September 1859.³ He died in 1912.²
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Bengal Army.¹ He was an explorer.³

     James Timmins lived at Birmingham, Warwickshire, England^G.¹

     Phoebe Timmins was the daughter of James Timmins.² She married William Chance, son of William Chance and Sarah Lucas, on 6 August 1811.¹ She died on 13 April 1865.¹
     From 6 August 1811, her married name became Chance.

     Sir James Timmins Chance, 1st Bt. was born on 22 March 1814.¹ He was the son of William Chance and Phoebe Timmins.² He married Elizabeth Ferguson, daughter of George Ferguson, on 26 June 1845.¹ He died on 6 January 1902 at age 87.¹
     He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1838 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1848 with a Master of Arts (M.A.), ad eundem.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Staffordshire in 1868.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Staffordshire.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Worcestershire.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Chance, of Grand Avenue, Hove, co. Sussex [U.K.] on 19 June 1900.¹

     George Ferguson lived at Houghton Hall, Carlisle, Cumberland, England^G.¹

     Elizabeth Ferguson was the daughter of George Ferguson.² She married Sir James Timmins Chance, 1st Bt., son of William Chance and Phoebe Timmins, on 26 June 1845.¹ She died on 27 August 1887.¹
     From 26 June 1845, her married name became Chance.

     Sir William Chance, 2nd Bt. was born on 2 July 1853.¹ He was the son of Sir James Timmins Chance, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Ferguson.² He married Julia Charlotte Strachey, daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir Henry Strachey and Joanna Catherine Cloeté, on 15 October 1884.¹ He died on 9 April 1935 at age 81, without issue.¹
     He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was admitted to Inner Temple entitled to practise as a barrister.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Chance, of Grand Avenue, Hove, co. Sussex [U.K., 1900] on 6 January 1902.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Surrey in 1911.¹

     Julia Charlotte Strachey was born on 14 April 1864.² She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir Henry Strachey and Joanna Catherine Cloeté.^1,2 She married Sir William Chance, 2nd Bt., son of Sir James Timmins Chance, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Ferguson, on 15 October 1884.¹ She died on 30 August 1949 at age 85, without issue.¹
     From 15 October 1884, her married name became Chance.
