     He was educated at The Oratory School, Edgbaston, Warwickshire, England.² He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Coldstream Guards (Special Reserves.)¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹

     Hon. Lily Marie French was born on 4 August 1887.¹ She was the daughter of Arthur French, 4th Baron de Freyne of Coolavin and Marie Georgiana Lamb.¹ She died on 4 June 1967 at age 79, unmarried.¹

     Hon. Muriel May French was born on 1 May 1891.¹ She was the daughter of Arthur French, 4th Baron de Freyne of Coolavin and Marie Georgiana Lamb.¹ She married Major William Alexander Wilkinson on 7 April 1920.¹ She and Major William Alexander Wilkinson were divorced in 1947.¹ She died in 1980.¹
     From 7 April 1920, her married name became Wilkinson.

She held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Tyrone.¹
