Ralph Reginald Auchinleck Darling and Freda Moira Bessie Moriarty.⁴ He married Susan Ann Hobbs, daughter of Brigadier John Mervyn Hobbs, on 11 September 1954.² He died on 13 September 1996 at age 74 at Londonderry, County Londonderry, Ireland.³
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England^G.² He gained the rank of officer in the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve.² He fought in the Second World War.² He was Fleet Fighter Pilot.² He was Test Pilot Eastern Fleet.² He was Chief Test Pilot, British Pacific Fleet.² He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1950 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.² He graduated from Hertford College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1951 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)² He was appointed Queen’s Counsel (Q.C.) in 1967.² He was awarded the Reserve Decoration (R.D.) in 1967.² He was Panel of Wreck Commissioners in 1967.² He was appointed Queen’s Counsel (Q.C.) [Hong Kong] in 1968.² He held the office of Bencher of Middle Temple in 1972.² He lived in 1976 at Crevenagh, County Tyrone, Ireland^G.²

     Patrick James Auchinleck Darling was born on 30 October 1958.² He is the son of Gerald Ralph Auchinleck Darling and Susan Ann Hobbs.^1,2 He married, firstly, Amanda Carolyn Crossley, daughter of Hon. Richard Nicholas Crossley and Alexandra Anne Maitland Welch, in 1984.³ He married, secondly, Anne Lucinda Greenwood, daughter of John Richard Greenwood and Penelope Anne Burrell, on 4 June 1994.¹
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England^G.²

     Etheldreda Anne Darling was born in 1997.¹ She is the daughter of Patrick James Auchinleck Darling and Anne Lucinda Greenwood.¹

     Fiona Mary Greenwood was born on 3 September 1962.¹ She is the daughter of John Richard Greenwood and Penelope Anne Burrell.¹ She married Charles John Martin, son of Cyril Patrick John Martin, in 1987.¹
