     He was educated at Christ’s Hospital, Reading, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenan in the Royal Artillery.¹ He was educated at Wadham College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He was in personnel management with Royal Dutch Shell Group in Colombia, Venezuela and the U.K. between 1948 and 1984.¹ He was registered as a Member, Insitute of Personnel Management (M.I.P.M.)¹ He was appointed Fellow, Institute of Personnel and Development (F.I.P.D.)¹

     Joyce Edna Soffe is the daughter of George Soffe.¹ She married John Alan Fairlie Bruce, son of Lt.-Cdr. Alan Cathcart Fairlie Bruce and Barbara Clarributt Skinner, on 12 April 1950.¹
     From 12 April 1950, her married name became Bruce. She lived in 2003 at Beechbrook, 16 Colebrook Street, Winchester, Hampshire, England^G.¹

     Iain Alasdair Fairlie Bruce was born on 30 May 1954.¹ He is the son of John Alan Fairlie Bruce and Joyce Edna Soffe.¹ He married Maria Esperanza Sanchez on 6 July 1994.¹
     He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He graduated from Royal College of Arts, London, England^G, with a Diploma in Film-making.¹

     Maria Esperanza Sanchez married Iain Alasdair Fairlie Bruce, son of John Alan Fairlie Bruce and Joyce Edna Soffe, on 6 July 1994.¹
     From 6 July 1994, her married name became Bruce.¹

     David Malcolm Bruce was born in 1993.¹ He is the son of Iain Alasdair Fairlie Bruce and Maria Esperanza Sanchez.¹

     Hannah Eileen Jones Bruce was born in 1987.¹ She is the daughter of Iain Alasdair Fairlie Bruce and Maria Esperanza Sanchez.¹
