     Sophia Newnham was born circa 1790.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Newnham.¹ She married Hon. William Cust, son of Brownlow Cust, 1st Baron Brownlow of Belton and Frances Bankes, on 8 July 1819.¹ She died on 18 January 1884.¹
     From 8 July 1819, her married name became Cust.

     Captain William Purey Cust was born on 8 August 1821.¹ He was the son of Hon. William Cust and Sophia Newnham.¹ He married Emma Matilda Chaplin, daughter of William Chaplin and Emma Frankland, on 9 May 1844 at Bath, Somerset, England^G.^1,2 He died on 11 February 1865 at age 43.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Indian Army.¹ He was Equerry to HRH the Duchess of Cambridge.¹

     Emma Matilda Chaplin was born in July 1821 at Poona, India^G.² She was the daughter of William Chaplin and Emma Frankland.^1,2 She married Captain William Purey Cust, son of Hon. William Cust and Sophia Newnham, on 9 May 1844 at Bath, Somerset, England^G.^1,2 She died on 30 March 1852 at age 30.¹
     From 9 May 1844, her married name became Cust.

     Emma Sophia Ada Cust was born in September 1848 at Winchester, Hampshire, England^G.² She was the daughter of Captain William Purey Cust and Emma Matilda Chaplin.¹ She died in June 1849 at St. James’s, Westminster, London, England^G.^1,2

     Very Rev. Arthur Perceval Purey-Cust was born on 21 February 1828.¹ He was the son of Hon. William Cust and Sophia Newnham.¹ He married Lady Emma Bess Bligh, daughter of Edward Bligh, 5th Earl of Darnley and Hon. Emma Jane Parnell, on 6 June 1854.¹ He died on 23 December 1916 at age 88.¹
     He was given the name of Arthur Perceval Cust at birth.¹ He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)¹ He held the office of Dean of York between 1880 and 1916.¹ He held the office of Precenter of York between 1908 and 1916.¹

     Lady Emma Bess Bligh was born on 30 July 1832.² She was the daughter of Edward Bligh, 5th Earl of Darnley and Hon. Emma Jane Parnell.^1,3 She married Very Rev. Arthur Perceval Purey-Cust, son of Hon. William Cust and Sophia Newnham, on 6 June 1854.¹ She died on 27 July 1917 at age 84.¹
     From 6 June 1854, her married name became Purey-Cust.

     Reverend William Arthur Purey-Cust was born on 25 March 1855.¹ He was the son of Very Rev. Arthur Perceval Purey-Cust and Lady Emma Bess Bligh.¹ He married Lucy Caroline Jervois, daughter of Lt.-Gen. Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, on 14 February 1882.¹ He died on 28 September 1938 at age 83.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1878 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1892 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He held the office of Prebendary of Lincoln in 1917.¹

     Lt.-Gen. Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Michael and St. George (G.C.M.G.)¹

     Lucy Caroline Jervois was the daughter of Lt.-Gen. Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois.¹ She married Reverend William Arthur Purey-Cust, son of Very Rev. Arthur Perceval Purey-Cust and Lady Emma Bess Bligh, on 14 February 1882.¹ She died on 3 October 1916.¹
     From 14 February 1882, her married name became Purey-Cust.
