     Colonel Richard Brownlow Purey-Cust was born on 22 April 1888.¹ He was the son of Reverend William Arthur Purey-Cust and Lucy Caroline Jervois.¹ He married Gertrude Patricia Zoë Birch, daughter of Francis Julian Laurence Birch, on 27 September 1928.¹ He died on 6 February 1958 at age 69.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded and mentioned in despatches.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹ He was Temporary Brigadier and commanding officer of the 35th AA Group Territorial Army in 1938.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Artillery.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1942.¹

     Gertrude Patricia Zoë Birch was the daughter of Francis Julian Laurence Birch. She married Colonel Richard Brownlow Purey-Cust, son of Reverend William Arthur Purey-Cust and Lucy Caroline Jervois, on 27 September 1928.¹ She died in 1993.¹
     From 27 September 1928, her married name became Purey-Cust.

     John Richard Purey-Cust was born on 30 June 1934.¹ He is the son of Colonel Richard Brownlow Purey-Cust and Gertrude Patricia Zoë Birch.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G, with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Forestry.¹ He lived in 2003 at Campion Road, Gore, New Zealand^G.¹

     Veronica Caroline Purey-Cust was born on 16 April 1937.¹ She was the daughter of Colonel Richard Brownlow Purey-Cust and Gertrude Patricia Zoë Birch.¹ She married Hermann Hans Portmann on 14 June 1969.¹ She died on 11 July 2003 at age 66, from cancer.^2,3
     From 14 June 1969, her married name became Portmann.

     Hermann Hans Portmann married Veronica Caroline Purey-Cust, daughter of Colonel Richard Brownlow Purey-Cust and Gertrude Patricia Zoë Birch, on 14 June 1969.¹ He died on 28 September 2007, from lung cancer.³
     He lived at Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada^G.¹

     Robert Purey Portmann was born in 1974.¹ He is the son of Hermann Hans Portmann and Veronica Caroline Purey-Cust.¹ He married, firstly, Christina Leah Bodner on 19 August 1995.² He married, secondly, Cheryl Lynn Gryba on 27 June 2009.²

     Heidi Patricia Portmann was born in 1976.¹ She is the daughter of Hermann Hans Portmann and Veronica Caroline Purey-Cust.¹ She married Jason Allan Smithson on 17 August 2002.²
     From 17 August 2002, her married name became Smithson.²

     Alice Margaret Purey-Cust was born on 15 December 1882.¹ She was the daughter of Reverend William Arthur Purey-Cust and Lucy Caroline Jervois.¹ She died on 28 June 1962 at age 79, unmarried.¹

     Mary Adeilade Purey-Cust was born on 28 August 1884.¹ She was the daughter of Reverend William Arthur Purey-Cust and Lucy Caroline Jervois.¹ She died on 19 December 1959 at age 75, unmarried.¹
