He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy.1 He was attached to Special Embassy to King of Spain’s wedding in 1877.2 He was Private Secretary to his cousin Sir Henry Wolff’s East Roumelian Commission in 1878.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the 4th Battalion, Norfolk Regiment.1 He was Private Secretary to his cousin Sir Henry Wolff’s Special Mission to Egypt in 1886.2 He succeeded as the 6th Baron Walpole of Wolterton, co. Norfolk [G.B., 1756] on 7 December 1894.3 He succeeded as the 8th Baron Walpole of Walpole, co. Norfolk [G.B., 1723] on 7 December 1894.3 He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Orford [U.K., 1806] on 7 December 1894.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Norfolk.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Norfolk.2 On his death, his earldom became extinct.1
