     She was educated at Norwich School, Norwich, Norfolk, England^G.¹ She graduated from King’s College London, London, England^G, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹

     Joan Windham was born on 13 April 1904.¹ She was the daughter of Ashe Windham and Cora Ellen Sowerby Middleton.¹ She married, firstly, Brigadier Ord Henderson Tidbury, son of Colonel James Tidbury, on 8 May 1959.¹ She married, secondly, Major Hugh D’Oyly Lyle, son of Colonel Hugh Thomas Lyle and Alice Fanny D’Oyly, on 20 September 1964.¹ She died on 19 December 1990 at age 86.¹
     From 8 May 1959, her married name became Tidbury.¹ She was registered as a Member, Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (M.C.S.P.)¹ From 20 September 1964, her married name became Lyle.¹

     Brigadier Ord Henderson Tidbury was the son of Colonel James Tidbury.¹ He married Joan Windham, daughter of Ashe Windham and Cora Ellen Sowerby Middleton, on 8 May 1959.¹ He died on 14 July 1961.¹
     He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹

     Colonel James Tidbury was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)¹

     Major Hugh D’Oyly Lyle was the son of Colonel Hugh Thomas Lyle and Alice Fanny D’Oyly.¹ He married Joan Windham, daughter of Ashe Windham and Cora Ellen Sowerby Middleton, on 20 September 1964.¹ He died in 1977.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Welch Fusiliers.¹

     Colonel Hugh Thomas Lyle married Alice Fanny D’Oyly, daughter of Sir Warren Hastings D’Oyly, 10th Bt. and Henrietta Mary Halliday, on 24 June 1886.² He died on 24 January 1942.²
     He lived at Knockterana, Coleraine, County Londonderry, Ireland^G.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)² He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Welch Fusiliers.² He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)¹

     Anne Windham was born on 17 August 1906.¹ She was the daughter of Ashe Windham and Cora Ellen Sowerby Middleton.¹ She died on 27 January 1991 at age 84.¹
     She was in the Foreign Service between 1928 and 1966.¹ She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1942.¹

     Mève Windham was born on 20 September 1909.¹ She was the daughter of Ashe Windham and Cora Ellen Sowerby Middleton.¹ She died on 24 September 1990 at age 81.¹

     Ruth Windham was born in 1912.¹ She is the daughter of Ashe Windham and Cora Ellen Sowerby Middleton.¹ She married, firstly, Robert Bellord, son of Edmund Joseph Bellord, on 21 January 1938.¹ She and Robert Bellord were divorced in 1962.¹ She married, secondly, Brigadier John Henry Patrick Woodroffe in 1972.¹
     From 21 January 1938, her married name became Bellord.¹ From 1972, her married name became Woodroffe.¹ She lived in 2003 at Little Beechford, Childe Okeford, Dorset, England^G.¹
