James Booth1 
He was educated at St. John’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.2 He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn entitled to practise as a barrister-at-law.2 He was Counsel to the Speaker of the House of Commons in 1839.1 He held the office of Secretary of the Board of Trade between 1856 and 1865.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1866.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.3
