     Emily Mary Jane Buffett usually went by her middle name of Jane. From 22 January 1879, her married name became Quintal.¹

     Alice Violet Quintal was born on 1 February 1880 at Norfolk Island^G.¹ She was the daughter of William Walter Gregorie Quintal and Emily Mary Jane Buffett.¹ She married Augustine Adams, son of Byron Stanley Mitchell Adams and Maria Edith McCoy, on 18 May 1911 at Norfolk Island^G.¹ She died on 29 January 1951 at age 70 at Norfolk Island.²

     Augustine Adams was born on 11 December 1881 at Norfolk Island^G.¹ He was the son of Byron Stanley Mitchell Adams and Maria Edith McCoy.¹ He married Alice Violet Quintal, daughter of William Walter Gregorie Quintal and Emily Mary Jane Buffett, on 18 May 1911 at Norfolk Island^G.¹ He died on 2 February 1944 at age 62 at Norfolk Island.¹
     Augustine Adams also went by the nick-name of Hares.¹ He fought in the First World War between 1917 and 1918, with 2nd Infantry Battalion on the Western Front.² He was commissioned on 28 March 1917 with the rank of Private, in the service of the Australian Imperial Forces.¹
