     Sir Patrick Dunbar of Cumnock and Westfield married Janet Gordon, daughter of Alexander Gordon, Master of Sutherland and Lady Janet Stewart, in 1537.¹
     He lived at Cumnock, Morayshire, Scotland^G.¹ He lived at Westfield, Morayshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Sir Robert Gordon, 1st Bt. was born on 14 May 1580.¹ He was the son of Alexander Gordon, 12th Earl of Sutherland and Lady Jean Gordon.¹ He married Louisa Gordon, daughter of John Gordon of Glenluce, on 16 February 1613.¹ He died in March 1654 at age 73.¹
     He gained the title of 1st Baronet Gordon, of Gordonstoun [Nova Scotia] on 28 May 1625.¹ He lived at Gordonstoun, Morayshire, Scotland^G.¹ He wrote the book The History of the Earldom of Sutherland.¹

     Sir Alexander Gordon was born on 5 March 1585.¹ He was the son of Alexander Gordon, 12th Earl of Sutherland and Lady Jean Gordon.¹ He married Margaret MacLeod of Assynt.¹

     Lady Jane Gordon was born on 1 November 1574.¹ She was the daughter of Alexander Gordon, 12th Earl of Sutherland and Lady Jean Gordon.¹ She married Hugh ‘Du’ Mackay of Farr, Tongue and Strathnaver, son of Iye ‘Du’ Mackay and Christian Sinclair, in December 1589.²
     Her married name became Mackay.

     Lady Mary Gordon was born on 14 August 1582.¹ She was the daughter of Alexander Gordon, 12th Earl of Sutherland and Lady Jean Gordon.¹ A contract for the marriage of Lady Mary Gordon and David Ross of Balnagown was signed on 21 February 1597/98.¹ She died in 1605, without issue.¹
     Her married name became Ross.

     Louisa Gordon was the daughter of John Gordon of Glenluce.¹ She married Sir Robert Gordon, 1st Bt., son of Alexander Gordon, 12th Earl of Sutherland and Lady Jean Gordon, on 16 February 1613.¹ She died in September 1680.¹

     John Gordon of Glenluce was born illegitimately, although later legitimated by Mary, Queen of Scots, after his parent’s marriage.² He was the son of Alexander Gordon and Barbara Logie.²
     He held the office of Bishop of Galloway.² He lived at Glenluce, Dumfries-shire, Scotland^G.¹

     A contract for the marriage of David Ross of Balnagown and Lady Mary Gordon was signed on 21 February 1597/98.¹

     Ranald ‘Bane’ Macdonald was born after 1407.¹ He was the son of Ian ‘Mor’ Macdonald, Lord of the Isles and Margery Byset.¹
     He was the ancestor of Clanranald Bane, of Largie, Kintyre.¹

     Adam Gordon was born on 15 May 1613.¹ He was the son of John Gordon, 13th Earl of Sutherland and Agnes Elphinstone.¹ He died on 27 August 1634 at age 21 at Nordlingen, Germany, killed in action, unmarried.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Swedish Army.¹ He fought in the Battle of Nordlingen on 27 August 1634.¹
