Elizabeth Chudleigh was born circa 1720 at Chelsea, London, England.3,4 She was the daughter of Colonel Thomas Chudleigh and Henrietta Clifford.1 She married, firstly, Vice-Admiral Augustus John Hervey, 3rd Earl of Bristol, son of John Hervey, 2nd Baron Hervey of Ickworth and Mary Lepell, on 4 August 1744 at Chapel of Mr. Merrill’s house, Lainston, Hampshire, EnglandG, in a privately marriage.1 She and Vice-Admiral Augustus John Hervey, 3rd Earl of Bristol were divorced on 11 February 1769 a mensa et thoro.3 She married, secondly, Evelyn Pierrepont, 2nd Duke of Kingston-upon-Hull, son of William Pierrepont, Earl of Kingston and Rachel Baynton, on 8 March 1769 at St. George’s Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG, in a bigamously marriage.1 She died on 26 August 1788 at Paris, FranceG, from a bursting blood vessel.3 Her will was proven (by probate) in December 1789.3 She died intestate and her estate was administered in March 1789.3
She held the office of Maid of Honour to the Princess of Wales in 1743.1 From 4 August 1744, her married name became Hervey.1 From 8 March 1769, her married name became Pierrepont.1 She was styled as Duchess of Kingston.1 Between 15 April 1776 and 22 April 1776 she was tried by the House of Lords for bigamy, and found guilty.1
