John Browne1 
He held the office of Sheriff of County Mayo in 1731.2 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Browne, of the Neale, near Ballinrobe, co. Mayo [N.S., 1636] on 8 May 1737, although he did not assume the title.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Castlebar [Ireland] between 1740 and 1760.2 He was convicted of manslaughter for killing Roger Miller in a duel. Roger Miller was the founder of the True Blue Club in Kilmaine which did not accept Catholic members.3
