Maj.-Gen. Sir Stanley de Astel Calvert Clarke was born in 1837.3 He was the son of Colonel John Frederick Sales Clarke. He married Mary Temple Rose, daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir John Rose, 1st Bt. and Charlotte Temple, on 15 September 1867.4 He died on 29 November 1911.4
