     James Hamilton Bell was born on 25 May 1811.¹ He was the son of George Bell and Isabella Ross.¹ He married Mary Louisa Sewell, daughter of Colonel Frederick Sewell.¹ He died on 25 August 1850 at age 39 at Guntur, India^G.¹
     He was in the Honourable East India Company Service.¹

     Mary Louisa Sewell is the daughter of Colonel Frederick Sewell.¹ She married James Hamilton Bell, son of George Bell and Isabella Ross.¹
     Her married name became Bell.¹

     Colonel James Archibald Robert Bell was born on 9 March 1848 at Chitoor, Madras, India^G.¹ He was the son of James Hamilton Bell and Mary Louisa Sewell.¹ He married Amy Caroline Dunsterville, daughter of Lt.-Col. James Barnes Dunsterville and Harriet Birch, on 12 April 1880 at Mhow, India^G.¹ He died on 22 March 1915 at age 67 at Bedfordshire, England^G.¹
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the East Yorkshire Regiment.¹

     Amy Caroline Dunsterville was born in 1858.² She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. James Barnes Dunsterville and Harriet Birch.^1,2 She married Colonel James Archibald Robert Bell, son of James Hamilton Bell and Mary Louisa Sewell, on 12 April 1880 at Mhow, India^G.¹ She died on 17 February 1919 at Bedfordshire, England^G.¹
     From 12 April 1880, her married name became Bell.¹

     Lt.-Col. James Barnes Dunsterville was born on 2 March 1821.² He was the son of Maj.-Gen. James Henderson Dunsterville and Lucy Barnes.^3,2 He married Harriet Birch, daughter of George Birch and Catharine Brett.³ He died on 17 October 1870 at age 49, at sea, enroute to Europe.²

     James Dermot Knightley Bell was born on 5 February 1881 at Belgaum, Belgium^G.¹ He was the son of Colonel James Archibald Robert Bell and Amy Caroline Dunsterville.¹ He died on 30 May 1900 at age 19 at Natal, South Africa^G, from wounds received in action, unmarried.¹
     He fought in the Boer War.¹ He gained the rank of Private in the 19th Imperial Yeomanry.¹

     George Cecil Bell was born on 8 March 1882 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G.¹ He was the son of Colonel James Archibald Robert Bell and Amy Caroline Dunsterville.¹ He married, firstly, Emily Adeline Grist, daughter of Samuel Grist, on 19 May 1906 at Hampstead, London, England^G.¹ He married, secondly, Edith Florence Maney in June 1952 at Chichester, Sussex, England^G.¹ He died on 2 July 1953 at age 71, without issue.¹
     He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Durham Light Infantry.¹

     Emily Adeline Grist is the daughter of Samuel Grist.¹ She married George Cecil Bell, son of Colonel James Archibald Robert Bell and Amy Caroline Dunsterville, on 19 May 1906 at Hampstead, London, England^G.¹
     From 19 May 1906, her married name became Bell.¹
