     Christabel Lucy Barran was born on 24 February 1939.¹ She is the daughter of Henry Vernon Flower Barran and Cicely Caulfeild.¹

     Elaine Isabel Flower Barran was the daughter of Henry Barran and Rosalie Mary Flower.¹ She died on 6 September 1981.¹

     Sir Rowland Hirst Barran was born on 7 August 1858.¹ He was the son of Sir John Barran, 1st Bt. and Ann Hirst.¹ He married, firstly, Rose Cardew Bradley, daughter of Reverend Gilbert Bradley, on 10 February 1887.¹ He and Rose Cardew Bradley were divorced in 1899.¹ He married, secondly, Louise Buchanan Brown, daughter of J. Stevenson Brown, on 7 April 1909.¹ He died on 6 August 1949 at age 90.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Leeds between 1901 and 1918.¹ He was appointed Knight in 1917.¹

     Rose Cardew Bradley was the daughter of Reverend Gilbert Bradley.¹ She married Sir Rowland Hirst Barran, son of Sir John Barran, 1st Bt. and Ann Hirst, on 10 February 1887.¹ She and Sir Rowland Hirst Barran were divorced in 1899.¹ She died on 19 January 1952.¹
     From 10 February 1887, her married name became Barran.¹

     Louise Buchanan Brown was the daughter of J. Stevenson Brown.¹ She married Sir Rowland Hirst Barran, son of Sir John Barran, 1st Bt. and Ann Hirst, on 7 April 1909.¹ She died on 24 August 1947.¹
     From 7 April 1909, her married name became Barran.¹

     J. Stevenson Brown lived at Montreal, Quebec, Canada^G.¹

     Captain Rowland Noel Barran was born on 25 December 1887.¹ He was the son of Sir Rowland Hirst Barran and Rose Cardew Bradley.¹ He married Auriol Camilla Sharlia Blanche Hay, daughter of Hon. Alistair George Hay-Drummond and Hon. Camilla Dagmar Violet Greville, on 12 March 1917.¹ He died on 19 March 1919 at age 31, while on active service.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 2nd Life Guards.¹

     Auriol Camilla Sharlia Blanche Hay was born on 2 January 1893.² She was the daughter of Hon. Alistair George Hay-Drummond and Hon. Camilla Dagmar Violet Greville.^1,2 She married, firstly, Captain Rowland Noel Barran, son of Sir Rowland Hirst Barran and Rose Cardew Bradley, on 12 March 1917.¹ She married, secondly, Sir James Allan Horne on 25 February 1924.¹ She died on 7 September 1930 at age 37.¹
     From 12 March 1917, her married name became Barran.¹ From 25 February 1924, her married name became Horne.¹

     Hon. Alistair George Hay-Drummond was born on 18 April 1861.² He was the son of George Hay-Drummond, 12th Earl of Kinnoull and Lady Emily Blanche Charlotte Somerset.^1,2 He married, firstly, Hon. Camilla Dagmar Violet Greville, daughter of Algernon William Fulke Greville, 2nd Baron Greville of Clonyn and Lady Beatrice Violet Graham, on 12 January 1890.² He married, secondly, Hyacinthe Farrer, daughter of Captain John Farrer, in 1909.²
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd Battalion, Black Watch.² He was awarded the Chevalier, Legion of Honour.²
