     Major Barran was born on 1 December 1846.¹ He was the son of Sir John Barran, 1st Bt. and Ann Hirst.¹ He died on 21 September 1866 at age 19, unmarried.¹

     Charles Barran was born on 22 November 1849.¹ He was the son of Sir John Barran, 1st Bt. and Ann Hirst.¹ He married Louisa Annie McNab, daughter of John McNab, on 8 June 1876.¹ He died on 7 November 1929 at age 79.¹
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Devon in 1894.¹ He lived at Berry Pomeroy, Totnes, Devon, England^G.¹

     Louisa Annie McNab was the daughter of John McNab.¹ She married Charles Barran, son of Sir John Barran, 1st Bt. and Ann Hirst, on 8 June 1876.¹ She died on 2 April 1939.¹
     From 8 June 1876, her married name became Barran.¹

     John McNab lived at Midtonfield, Renfrewshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Charles Marcel Barran was born on 2 April 1877.¹ He was the son of Charles Barran and Louisa Annie McNab.¹ He married Jessie Henderson Annie Pollock, daughter of Thomas Pollock, on 4 April 1907.¹ He died on 9 September 1924 at age 47, drowned in a storm at sea.¹

     Jessie Henderson Annie Pollock is the daughter of Thomas Pollock.¹ She married Charles Marcel Barran, son of Charles Barran and Louisa Annie McNab, on 4 April 1907.¹
     From 4 April 1907, her married name became Barran.¹

     Thomas Pollock lived at Liverpool, Lancashire, England^G.¹

     Kenneth Gerald McNab Barran was born on 17 March 1886.¹ He was the son of Charles Barran and Louisa Annie McNab.¹ He married Frances Annie Strang, daughter of John Strang, on 2 June 1937.¹ He died on 13 February 1938 at age 51.¹
