     Philip Austyn Barran was born on 20 March 1876.¹ He was the son of John Barran and Eliza Henrietta Nicholson.¹ He married Dorothy Currer Briggs, daughter of Arthur Currer Briggs, on 2 January 1908.¹ He died on 8 February 1953 at age 76.¹
     He was educated at Christ’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He gained the rank of Major in the West Riding Brigade, Royal Field Artillery (Territorial Force.)¹ He was chairman of Leeds Maternity Hospital.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Leeds.¹

     Dorothy Currer Briggs was born in 1884 at Leeds, Yorkshire, England.² She was the daughter of Arthur Currer Briggs.¹ She married Philip Austyn Barran, son of John Barran and Eliza Henrietta Nicholson, on 2 January 1908.¹ She died on 30 January 1956.¹
     From 2 January 1908, her married name became Barran.¹

     Arthur Currer Briggs lived at Leeds, Yorkshire, West Riding, England^G.¹

     F/Lt. Philip Henry Barran was born on 20 April 1909.¹ He was the son of Philip Austyn Barran and Dorothy Currer Briggs.¹ He died on 11 July 1940 at age 31, killed in action.¹
     He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in the Auxiliary Air Force.¹ He fought in the Battle of Britain.¹

     Arthur Haworth Barran was born on 14 April 1911.¹ He was the son of Philip Austyn Barran and Dorothy Currer Briggs.¹ He married Rosa Greenwood, daughter of John Russell Greenwood, on 27 March 1945.¹ He died on 2 May 1991 at age 80 at Taupo, New Zealand.^1,2
     Arthur Haworth Barran usually went by his middle name of Haworth.¹ He was educated at Repton School, Repton, Derbyshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from St. John’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1933 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹

     Rosa Greenwood is the daughter of John Russell Greenwood.¹ She married Arthur Haworth Barran, son of Philip Austyn Barran and Dorothy Currer Briggs, on 27 March 1945.¹
     From 27 March 1945, her married name became Barran.¹

     Jonathan Haworth Barran was born on 17 November 1946.¹ He is the son of Arthur Haworth Barran and Rosa Greenwood.¹ He married Lindsay Ward, daughter of C. P. Ward, at New Zealand^G.¹
     He was educated at Badingham College, Leatherhead, Surrey, England^G.¹ He lived in 2003 at 13 Tumene Drive, Owhata, Rotorua, New Zealand^G.¹

     Lindsay Ward is the daughter of C. P. Ward.¹ She married Jonathan Haworth Barran, son of Arthur Haworth Barran and Rosa Greenwood, at New Zealand^G.¹
     Her married name became Barran.¹

     C. P. Ward lived at Wellington, New Zealand^G.¹
