     Patrick Blain married Joanna Vans, daughter of Sir John Vans of Barnbarroch and Margaret Macdowall, in 1639.¹

     John Vans of Barnbarroch was the son of Sir Patrick Vans of Barnbarroch and Grizell Johnstone.¹ He married Grizell McCulloch, daughter of Sir John McCulloch of Myrtoun, on 15 June 1649.¹ He died on 29 August 1696.¹

     Grizell McCulloch is the daughter of Sir John McCulloch of Myrtoun.¹ She married John Vans of Barnbarroch, son of Sir Patrick Vans of Barnbarroch and Grizell Johnstone, on 15 June 1649.¹
     From 15 June 1649, her married name became Vans.¹

     John Vans was the son of John Vans of Barnbarroch and Grizell McCulloch.¹ He died before 1696.¹

     Alexander Vans of Barnbarroch was the son of John Vans of Barnbarroch and Grizell McCulloch.¹ He married Margaret Maxwell, daughter of Sir William Maxwell of Monreith, in 1674.¹ He died in 1709.¹

     Margaret Maxwell was the daughter of Sir William Maxwell of Monreith.¹ She married Alexander Vans of Barnbarroch, son of John Vans of Barnbarroch and Grizell McCulloch, in 1674.¹
     From 1674, her married name became Vans.¹

     Grizell Vans was the daughter of Alexander Vans of Barnbarroch and Margaret Maxwell.¹ She married John Gordon of Cairnfield.¹
     Her married name became Gordon.¹

     John Gordon of Cairnfield married Grizell Vans, daughter of Alexander Vans of Barnbarroch and Margaret Maxwell.¹
