Uchtred Macdowall, 10th of Garthland1 
He was involved in a feud with Lochinvar following murder of Gilbert Macdowall of Barjarg.1 On 29 February 1547/48 he had a fresh charter from King James VI of the Baronies of Garthland and Corswallas which was retoured.1 On 19 August 1584 he took part in the Raid of Ruthven in which the Earl of Gowrie seized King James VI at Stirling and was called to trial but had his summons deleted by the King’s warrant.1
