     Colonel Patrick Vans of Barnbarroch was the son of Alexander Vans of Barnbarroch and Margaret Maxwell.¹ He married, firstly, Jean Campbell, daughter of Sir James Campbell of Lawers.¹ He married, secondly, Barbara McDowall, daughter of Patrick McDowall of Freuch, on 28 February 1715.¹ He died in 1733.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wigtownshire after 1707.¹ He had five other sons and two other daughters.¹

     Jean Campbell was the daughter of Sir James Campbell of Lawers.¹ She married Colonel Patrick Vans of Barnbarroch, son of Alexander Vans of Barnbarroch and Margaret Maxwell.¹
     Her married name became Vans.¹

     Patrick Vans was the son of Colonel Patrick Vans of Barnbarroch and Jean Campbell.¹ He died before 1733, without issue.¹
     He married the widow of Gordon of Craiglaw.¹

     Agnes Vans was the daughter of Colonel Patrick Vans of Barnbarroch and Jean Campbell.¹ She married James Brown of Carsluith on 3 August 1727.¹
     From 3 August 1727, her married name became Brown.¹ She had a daughter who died without issue.¹

     Barbara McDowall was the daughter of Patrick McDowall of Freuch.¹ She married Colonel Patrick Vans of Barnbarroch, son of Alexander Vans of Barnbarroch and Margaret Maxwell, on 28 February 1715.¹
     From 28 February 1715, her married name became Vans.¹

     Joel Barnett, Baron Barnett was born on 14 October 1923.¹ He was the son of Louis Barnett and Ettie Cosovski.² He married Lilian Stella Goldstone, daughter of Abraham Goldstone, on 11 September 1949.² He died on 1 November 2014 at age 91.³
