     Alexander Napier, 6th of Merchistoun was born circa 1509.2 He was the son of Sir Alexander Napier, 5th of Merchistoun and Janet Chisholm.1,3 He and Annabella Campbell obtained a marriage license on 9 October 1533 by Papal dispensation.3 He died on 10 September 1547, killed in action.3
     He fought in the Battle of Pinkie on 10 September 1547.1

     Sir Patrick Barclay of Towie was the son of Walter Barclay of Towie and Elizabeth Hay.1 He married, firstly, Janet Elphinstone, daughter of Robert Elphinstone, 3rd Lord Elphinstone and Margaret Drummond.1 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Forbes, daughter of Duncan Forbes of Monymusk and Agnes Gray.1 He died in June 1589 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG, killed by Meldrum of Moncoffer and others.1
     On 25 April 1587 he was served heir to his father.1
