He matriculated at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 6 January 1770.1 He graduated with a Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.)2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Exeter between 1774 and 1790.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Bamfylde, of Poltimore, co. Devon [E., 1641] on 15 July 1776.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Exeter between 1796 and 1807.1

Catharine Moore was born circa 1754.1 She was the daughter of Admiral Sir John Moore, 1st Bt. and Penelope Mathew.1 She married Sir Charles Warwick Bamfylde, 5th Bt., son of Sir Richard Warwick Bamfylde, 4th Bt. and Jane Codrington, on 9 February 1776 at St. James’s, Westminster, London, EnglandG.1 She died on 20 March 1832 at Egham, Surrey, EnglandG.1
From 9 February 1776, her married name became Bamfylde.1

He was appointed Knight Bachelor.1 He was created 1st Baronet Moore [Great Britain] in 1766.1 On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.

Devon [E., 1641] on 19 April 1823.1 He was created 1st Baron Poltimore, of Poltimore, co. Devon [U.K.] on 10 September 1831.1 He was Lord-in-Waiting (Liberal) between 1840 and 1841.2
