Sir Sidney Gerald Burrard, 7th Bt.1 
He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Engineers.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) in 1904.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Star of India (C.S.I.) in 1911.2 He held the office of Surveyor-General of India between 1911 and 1919.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Star of India (K.C.S.I.) in 1914.2 He wrote the book Borard and Burrard.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Burrard, of Walhampton, co. Southampton [G.B., 1769] in 1933.1
