     Hon. Peter Campbell Scarlett was born on 27 November 1804 at Spring Gardens, London, England.^2,3 He was the son of James Scarlett, 1st Baron Abinger and Louise Henrietta Campbell.¹ He married, firstly, Frances Sophia Mostyn Lomax, daughter of Edmund Lomax, on 22 May 1843.^1,2 He married, secondly, Louisa Anne Murray, daughter of James Wolfe Murray, Lord Cringletie and Isabella Katherina Strange, on 27 December 1873 at St. Luke, Chelsea, London, England.^2,3 He died on 15 July 1881 at age 76 at Dorking, Surrey, England.^1,3
     He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)² He held the office of Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Brazil between 1855 and 1858.² He held the office of Minister to Florence between 1858 and 1860.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Surrey.² He held the office of Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Greece between 1862 and 1864.² He held the office of Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Mexico between 1865 and 1867.²

     Frances Sophia Mostyn Lomax was born in 1824.² She was the daughter of Edmund Lomax.¹ She married Hon. Peter Campbell Scarlett, son of James Scarlett, 1st Baron Abinger and Louise Henrietta Campbell, on 22 May 1843.^1,3 She died on 27 September 1849 at Villa Gallt, Florence, Italy^G.^3,4
     From 22 May 1843, her married name became Scarlett.¹

     Edmund Lomax lived at Parkhurst, Surrey, England^G.¹

     Lt.-Col. Leopold James Yorke Campbell Scarlett was born on 9 September 1847.² He was the son of Hon. Peter Campbell Scarlett and Frances Sophia Mostyn Lomax.¹ He married Bessie Florence Gibson, daughter of Edward Gibson, on 16 February 1871.² He died on 21 October 1888 at age 41.²
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Scots Guard.² He lived at Parkhurst, Surrey, England^G.²

     Shelley Leopold Laurence Scarlett, 5th Baron Abinger was born on 1 April 1872.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Leopold James Yorke Campbell Scarlett and Bessie Florence Gibson.¹ He married Lila Lucy Catherine Mary White, daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir William Arthur White and Katherine Renzior, on 8 August 1899.¹ He died on 23 May 1917 at age 45 at London, England^G, without issue.¹ He was buried on 26 May 1917 at Brookwod Cemetery^G.¹
     He held the office of Honorary Attaché to Stockholm between 1897 and 1899.² He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.² He succeeded as the 5th Baron Abinger, of Abinger, Surrey and of the city of Norwich [U.K., 1835] on 11 December 1903.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hampshire.² He gained the rank of honorary Major in the 3rd Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment.²

     Bessie Florence Gibson was born in 1852.² She was the daughter of Edward Gibson.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Leopold James Yorke Campbell Scarlett, son of Hon. Peter Campbell Scarlett and Frances Sophia Mostyn Lomax, on 16 February 1871.³ She died on 22 September 1934.³
     She was adopted by Sir Percy Florence Shelley, 3rd Bt. From 16 February 1871, her married name became Scarlett.³

     Lila Lucy Catherine Mary White was born in 1867.² She was the daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir William Arthur White and Katherine Renzior.^1,3 She married, firstly, Kammerherr Carl Emmanuel de Geijer before 1899.¹ She married, secondly, Shelley Leopold Laurence Scarlett, 5th Baron Abinger, son of Lt.-Col. Leopold James Yorke Campbell Scarlett and Bessie Florence Gibson, on 8 August 1899.¹ She died on 7 June 1941.¹
     From before 1899, her married name became de Geijer.¹ From 8 August 1899, her married name became Scarlett.¹ After her marriage, Lila Lucy Catherine Mary White was styled as Baroness Abinger on 11 December 1903.

     Rt. Hon. Sir William Arthur White was the son of Arthur White and Eliza Lila Gardiner.² He married Katherine Renzior.
     He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)³ He held the office of Ambassador to Constantinople.³ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)³ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Michael and St. George (G.C.M.G.)³
