     Anne Bacon was the daughter of Sir Nathaniel Bacon and Jane Meautys.¹ She married, firstly, Sir Thomas Meautys.¹ She married, secondly, Sir Harbottle Grimston, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Harbottle Grimston, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Coppinger, before 1652.² She died circa 17 September 1680.³ She was buried on 20 September 1680.³
     Her married name became Meautys.¹ From before 1652, her married name became Grimston.¹

     Sir Thomas Meautys married Anne Bacon, daughter of Sir Nathaniel Bacon and Jane Meautys.¹

     Sir Harbottle Grimston, 2nd Bt. was born on 27 January 1602/3 at Bradfield Hall, Essex, England^G.³ He was the son of Sir Harbottle Grimston, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Coppinger.³ He married, firstly, Mary Croke, daughter of Sir George Croke and Mary Bennett, on 16 April 1629 at St. Dunstan’s-in-the-West Church, London, England^G.¹ He married, secondly, Anne Bacon, daughter of Sir Nathaniel Bacon and Jane Meautys, before 1652.³ He died on 2 January 1684/85 at age 81.⁴
     He was educated at Emmanuel College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.⁵ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Harwich in 1628.⁶ He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn entitled to practise as a barrister.⁵ He held the office of Recorder of Harwich in 1634.⁵ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Colchester between April 1640 and May 1640.⁶ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Colchester between November 1640 and 1648.⁵ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Grimston, of Bradfield, co. Essex [E., 1611] on 19 February 1647/48.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Essex between 1656 and 1658.⁶ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1660.⁵ He held the office of Speaker, House of Commons in 1660.⁶ He held the office of Master of the Rolls between 1660 and 1685.⁵ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Colchester from 1660 to 1661.⁶ He held the office of High Steward of St. Albans in 1664.⁵ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Colchester in 1679.⁶ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Colchester in 1681.⁶

     Jane Bacon was the daughter of Sir Nathaniel Bacon and Jane Meautys.¹ She died, unmarried.¹

     Benjamin Thomas Richard Spickernell was born on 15 September 1994.¹ He is the son of James William Richard Spickernell and Lady Rachel Barbara Violet Petty-FitzMaurice.¹

     Sir Robert Mansel was born in 1573.² He was the son of Sir Edward Mansel and Lady Jane Somerset.² He married, firstly, Elizabeth Bacon, daughter of Sir Nicholas Bacon and Jane Fernley, before 1600.¹ He married, secondly, Anne Roper, daughter of Sir John Roper, in 1617.² He died before 20 June 1656, without issue.²
     He was also known as Robert Mansfield.³ He was also known as Robert Maunsell.⁴ He entered the Navy, under the immediate patronage of his relation, the Lord High Admiral, Lord Howard of Effingham.³ He fought in the Capture of Calais in 1596, where he distinguished himself.³ He was appointed Knight in 1596.³ In 1596 he served in the naval expedition against Cadiz.² In November 1599 he fought a duel with Sir John Hayden.³ He was commander of the a small squadron off Ireland in 1600.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for King’s Lynn in 1601.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Carmarthen in 1603.² He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral of the Narrow Seas in 1603 in the in the English Channel.² He gained the rank of Captain in 1604 in the the Mer Honour.³ He held the office of Treasurer of the Navy between 1604 and 1618.² He was associated with ‘The Muscovy Co’ and ‘The East Indian Co.³‘ He was one of the Directors of ‘The Company of the Merchant Discoverers of The North West Passage’ in 1612.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Carmarthenshlre in 1614.³ In 1616 at Broad Street, London, England^G, he established a glass works in Broad Street.³ Circa 1617 he was granted by King James I the exclusive right to manufacture glass.² He held the office of Vice-Admiral of England in 1618.² He held the office of Treasurer of the Navy in 1618, appointed for life by King James I.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Sham between 1623 and 1625.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lostwithiel in 1626.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Sham from 1627 to 1628.³

     Reverend Francis Bacon was born on 17 February 1824.¹ He was the son of Nicholas Bacon and Jane Bowker.¹ He married Caroline Cecilia Cazalet, daughter of Peter Clement Cazalet and Olympia Cazalet, on 19 June 1855.¹ He died on 28 June 1882 at age 58.¹
     He lived at The Hall, Much Hadham, Hertfordshire, England^G.¹

     Caroline Cecilia Cazalet was born circa 1825 at Hoddesdon, Kent, England.² She was the daughter of Peter Clement Cazalet and Olympia Cazalet.^1,2 She was baptised on 29 April 1825 at Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, England.² She married Reverend Francis Bacon, son of Nicholas Bacon and Jane Bowker, on 19 June 1855.¹ She died on 6 October 1897.¹
     From 19 June 1855, her married name became Bacon.¹

     Peter Clement Cazalet was born on 3 November 1785 at St. Petersburg, Russia.^2,3 He was the son of Noah Cazalet and Charlotte Moore.³ He was baptised on 30 November 1785 at British Chaplaincy, St. Petersburg, Russia.³ He married Olympia Cazalet, daughter of Peter Cazalet and Sarah Haughton-Langston.³ He died on 4 July 1859 at age 73, on board the steamer Emperor on the way to St. Petersburg.²
     He lived at Kemp Town, Brighton, Sussex, England^G.¹
