Sir Joseph Ayloffe, 6th Bt.1 
He was educated at Westminster School, Westminster, London, EnglandG.1 He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Ayloffe, of Braxted Magna, co. Essex [E., 1611] on 10 December 1730, then ‘of Framfield, co. Essex.1‘ He was appointed Fellow, Society of Antiquaries (F.S.A.) in 1732.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) in 1732.1 He held the office of Keeper of the State Paper Office in 1763.1 He wrote the book Edmondson’s Baronagium, published between 1764 and 1784, in six volumes.1 He wrote the book Calendars of the Ancient Charters, etc. and of the Welsh and Scottish Rolls in the Tower of London, published 1772, editor.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.2

On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.1
